About Mike and Island Builders
I was born and raised in California and graduated from UCLA. After college I traveled around the world and then spent time living in Idaho and Lake Tahoe area I began to work as a carpenter, building sound stages in Idaho and cabins in Tahoe. When arriving on Maui I worked on construction projects around the islands, building sound stages on Lani and helping build back Kauai after Inkii. After that I started Island Builders in 1984 and begin my business.
Island Builders has enjoyed its success from the very beginning. We have remolded countless old buildings, keeping the flavor of the small towns that dot the Islands. These old buildings became boutiques, small art galleries, jewelry stores and restaurants all over the Island, including a small shopping center in Haiku. As work grew so did Island Builders. Now we are a small company of qualified men who can help you build a new home, remodel an old home, add an addition, deck or build a carport including homes or buildings with grandfather clauses. We have excellent experience in remolding kitchens and bathrooms.

Island builders were able to bring our idea to life from conception to completion. We had always dreamed of remodeling our family home in Haiku but had absolutely no idea where to start.
